the northface osito 2
last month on my trip to portland, i scored this orange furry northface zip-up for ... wait for it .......... $30!!! its official name is the osito 2 jacket (upon some brief googling i can't really tell if there's ever been an osito 1??) & it retails for like $100! i had been wanting one of these furry, colorful northface zip-ups since like last fall, but i wasn't too crazy about the price tag. i would have never thought i'd find one at a thrift store, especially at such a good bargain!
people turn to brands like the northface for practicality rather than style. the technology behind their clothing is designed so that bikers/hikers/runners/walkers/etc can do their thang in all climates. when i see a northface in the streets, it's usually waterproof or fleece in a neutral shade or muted color and paired with leggings or jeans and uggs or tennis shoes. always v practical!! that's why i was intrigued by the osito 2: it maintains northface's functionality but offers a lil bit more style than their other pieces. u'll be cozy AND making a statement in this furry, neon thing.
i had fun styling this! i really want to integrate this jacket into my wardrobe so rather than thinking of it as an activewear piece, i just think of it as a fur jacket. that led me to style the osito super girly with my lace cami, A-line skirt, & floral flats. my powder blue skirt complements the osito's orange color (s/o to the color wheel) & the colors on my flats tie everything together nicely. this is a perfect outfit for spring/summer in the bay area where the heat is sporadic & mild. i love this jacket a lot & this definitely won't be the last time i'll style it for the blog. i honestly want it in more colors (blue!!!! pink!!!! burple!!!! lmao i'm not even gunna fix that typo) so hopefully i find more ositos at my local thrift stores 😆!!! yee!
